Black-backed jackals Canis mesomelas feeding on a Gemsbok Oryx gazella. The southern part of the Kalahari is recovering from a drought and there were many
dead bodies lying around, mainly buck. There were a suprising amount of dead Eland Taurotragus oryx - we have never seen a live Eland in the Kgalagadi yet!
